What If Everything You Know About Privilege Is Wrong?

What If Everything You Know About Privilege Is Wrong?

If you find yourself thinking you’re underprivileged, there’s a high chance that you are.

You may be underprivileged within your own bubble, but beyond your immediate community, there are always people facing even greater challenges.

It’s a default mindset to label ourselves as the underprivileged, and it often provides a convenient excuse to blame others for everything that goes wrong in our lives.

Just because someone is privileged doesn’t mean they don’t face their own set of challenges.

These struggles may manifest differently, but that doesn’t diminish their significance.

It’s important not to let others invalidate your struggles or belittle your pain; we all encounter challenges in different ways.

From the perspective of those who are less privileged, it’s crucial to be open-minded and accept that people who are more privileged also face their own struggles. You are struggling, but it doesn’t mean they don’t.

If our lives are underprivileged, it doesn’t necessarily mean that others have it easy. Our lives might still be less difficult than those who face more significant struggles.

It’s not an excuse to give up on life or stop striving for improvement.

No matter how tough life gets, always keep an open heart and extend a helping hand to those who are less privileged than you. There’s always someone enduring greater hardships.

Everything in life is about perspective.

Once in a while, pause for a moment and try to view from a different point of view.

For my dear friend, Sara, whose enduring support and willingness to engage in lively discussions, even when our viewpoints diverge.
