It is no longer with us. I gave cammipham.com a makeover today.
The old theme looks neat and professional but it did not represent my brand very well. I am a big fan of minimalist design. I wrote a post few days ago on my fashion blog about what influences my style. Less is more. The old look was nice but too busy. I settled with it because I could not find a minimalist design with a sidebar. Having a sidebar and all the social media plugins will increase the chance getting followers and subscribers. People are more likely to follow you if they see the follow button. It felt a little anti-social with a one column design.
But at the end of the day, I realize that people come to my blog to listen to me. They want the real me. I am not the expert on blogging nor marketing, but I am the expert on being @cammipham. It is ok being myself. I cannot talk about being authentic if I am not even doing it. Having the old theme is like me wearing track suit and Ugg in public[ It is big fashion NO-NO for me] . I feel much more comfortable with the new design. The theme is clean, elegant and classy….very cammilicious. From now on when people visit this blog, they can tell it is CamMi Pham’s blog.
It is good trying to learn from other people. However every rule works differently on different people. Life is all about finding what works for you not others. You can wear a lot of masks, but you will have to take them off at some point. And if I you don’t even love yourself, you give people no reason to love you.
